Hi, I’m Tenesha, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) dedicated to helping families navigate their breastfeeding journey with confidence, compassion, and culturally responsive care.
Originally from Hartford, CT, I’m a true northerner at heart, but I’ve called Central Florida home on and off since 2006. My husband is a Disney cast member, so when I’m not working with families, you’ll often find me at Epcot or Animal Kingdom with him and our three children, making the most of our main gate passes!
My passion for breastfeeding support began over 10 years ago when I exclusively breastfed my first baby for 14 months. I then went on to breastfeed my next two babies for two years each, all while managing PCOS and low thyroid—challenges that deeply shaped my understanding of lactation struggles.
I know firsthand how tough—and rewarding—breastfeeding can be. My experience is similar to the families I help, and that drives my passion to be the encouraging voice moms need, even when I’m the only one in their corner. I started my career as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, which gave me the foundation to support mothers in a compassionate, understanding way—without the whitecoat intimidation. This is a safe space, and you are safe with me.
I'm also honored to serve as the Mentorship Coordinator for Paving the Way: Diversity in Lactation, where I get to support and uplift the next generation of Black IBCLCs.
