Infant Feeding Consultations

Comprehensive Infant Feeding & Oral Assessment

Every consultation includes a thorough, full-body and oral assessment to uncover what’s really impacting your baby’s ability to feed comfortably and effectively.
Whether you’re dealing with pain, poor milk transfer, clicking, reflux-like symptoms, or slow weight gain, this evaluation helps us get to the root of the issue so you’re not stuck guessing.
What’s Included:
Whole Body AssessmentI assess your baby from head to toe for tension, alignment, and symmetry that may be affecting feeding.
Tongue Function & MobilityI evaluate how your baby’s tongue moves not just how it looks. This includes lift, extension, side-to-side movement, and frenum attachment.
Oral StructureI assess palate shape, lips, jaw, cheeks, gums, and nose symmetry to understand how structure may be influencing latch and comfort.
Suck & Swallow FunctionI observe your baby’s suck strength, rhythm, coordination, and swallowing patterns to determine feeding efficiency.
Reflexes & SensitivityI check gag reflex and oral responses that can impact feeding tolerance and coordination.
While tongue-tie is a real condition, not every baby with feeding challenges has one. My role is to provide a thorough, honest assessment so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
Tongue-tie & lip-tie release — follow-up policy If your baby has a tongue or lip-tie release, please plan to book your follow-up appointment at the time of your release visit. At this appointment, I’ll check the wound site, assess your baby’s feeding, and make sure healing and breastfeeding are progressing well.
